MFP Tutorial Time Ch #16 Plant Material

This week  we have a new tutorial by Davi Reid on Tutorial Time on SpeedyTV.  Davi's tutorial is showing us how to use Plant Material to make homemade papers.  This is a GREAT technique!  I had never used this technique before and I am now addicted!

For my background paper I used fresh Pink Petunias and Tomato Leaves to make my images on watercolor paper and then I photographed the papers & saved to my computer so that I could print them.  I know that the originals will change colors and fade with time, so that's why I chose to save and print!

I know you were thinking I'd lost my marbles when I said I used PINK petunias, well here is a photo with the smashed flowers  and you can see that I got 2 different  layouts with each smashing because I sandwiched the flowers between 2 pieces of watercolor paper  The first px is after smashing before I brushed off the actual flowers.

On the second picture I added an original flower next to it, crazy what the natural dies turn out like!

Now it's YOUR TURN!  Make a shaker card & enter into this week's challenge on Tutorial Time at SpeedyTV for your chance to win this stamp set from MFP:

This week I Cased Rosy Newlun's card for the sketch.   Just click her name to see her card.

  6. Oh, Lagene, this is so sweet! I had no idea that pink flowers might be purple. But when they start to whither, just like tree leaves, their true colors do show themselves. This is just amazing and like science class too! Thank you and hugs for all your kind comments on my cards. With aloha!!!
