(2011 Card #85) Hollyhock, Sky Blue & Orange

I love how Challenges take me outside my "box" of  "as usual colors, combinations & sketches". Here is a case in point...I would not think of combining Hollyhock pink, sky blue & orange together normally, but that's just what The Play Date Cafe asked us to do!  My focal image is from the stamp set  Hope Grows by Theresa Momber, found at GinaK Designs.  I painted the image with LuminArte powdered pigments mixed with gum arabic.
Distressed Labels 6 frame with Spiced Marmelade Distress Ink by Ranger.

Sizzix Ornate Flowers & Frame embossing folder, For Scallop: Cuttlebug Embossing Boarders. Sheer Ribbon, Gemstones cardstock for  base, central paper from Michaels Recollections.  Buttons form my collection....I didn't have any fancy white buttons, only these little plain janes!  So I searched through my closet & nothing fancy in white, so I didn't have to cut buttons off a blouse LOL!  Instead I threaded the ribbon through the buttons & poofed between them to dress them up a bit!
Blessings sentiment is from Nina Bracket's Lovely Labels 1 at Gina K Designs.

For my first card:
I Stamped the water lily 3 times & heat embossed with black .  Then "painted" with LuminArte powdered pigments mixed with gum arabic.   I cut out a smaller portion of the flower & shaped with a stylus then popped it up with pop dots that I made myself using Aleene's Tack It Over & Over glue. (it takes several days for the glue dots to set, so I make a whole tray at one time to use at a later date).  Then I cut the center portion from the 3rd flower & popped it on top.   I fussy cut around the side of the lily & pad on the left side so I could tuck the DP behind it.

For my second card, I stamped & heat embossed with Black EP.  Then I "painted" with LuminArte powdered pigments mixed with gum arabic.
This has been a very exciting experience for me!  I thank Faith at MFP for letting me join in the fun with these wonderful stamps!
