(2011 Card #72) Butterfly

Digital "Rose Butterfly" by Crissy Armstrong found at http://whimsystamps.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=13_14&sort=20a&page=5, I elongated it just a bit when printing. I painted it with LuminArte powdered pigments mixed with gum arabic. The upper right corner above the rose is really the same color as the rest of background inside the butterfly (I just couldn't get the flash out!) The background was stamped with ColorBox Chalk inkpad Rouge, using Stampendous Marble Texture Cube Then overstamped with Ranger Dusty Concord using All Night Media stamp (speckles Or My idea of Polka Dots hehe) Then distressed edges & inked with Dusty concord plus a little smudged on face of BG.

Sentiment by Nina Bracket's Elegant Verses found at GinaK Designs cut out with Spellbinder's Flying Beauities I then inked around the edges while still in the die with Rouge, the inked edges with Dusty Concord. Silver pearls from queenlandcompany.com Card base is "Silver" Gemstones paper from Joann's.

Ribbon rose made with a pink & a purple wired ribbon tied together to start & followed tutorial found at

Heat embossed with gold & painted with LuminArte powdered pigments mixed with gum arabic. Cut out with Spellbinders Labels 2. (2011 Card #68) Baby Girl

Baby image is digital clip art. Cut out with Spellbinders Labels 4 & embossed baby face with smaller die. Sponged with Ranger Spun Sugar Distress Ink. Typed my sentiment & die cut & sponged also. Mounted on tiny hearts vellum which was mounted on pink Mulberry Paper. Card base is CoreDnations paper.

My 4 ribbon roses were made from a long single piece of narrow ribbon (no cutting between roses). I slightly modified the technique by Connie found here I folded the ribbon from one end so I had about 7 inches(doubled) and made the rose leaving a 2 inch tab tacked it on the back with needle & thread, then from that rose I measured about 7 inches & folded & made another rose etc etc.

(2011 Card #65) Horseshoes Boots

This is the first year I have given all my grandchildren a special card on Mother's Day telling them that they are so blessed to have their Mom!  This is for my horse loving grandaughter....I love this about her..... she is in kindergarden & loves to wear her cowboy boots, black leggins, Hot pink skirt with black netting huge ruffles around the bottom, topped off with her horse with a pink bow T Shirt!

So I used Meljen's Designs  Horseshoe and Boot digital stamps and for the background in Photoshop I placed multiple horseshoes and twisted & turned & resized many times for a background.  I printed it on my cardstock then ink distressed around the edges.  I printed the boot on white CS then I painted with my favotite media:  LuminArte Powdered Pigments that I mixed with a few drops of Gum Arabic.  Then sponged around image with blue ink.  Rounded corners and matted with a brown paper.

(2011 Card #64) Mothers Day

My leafy background was stamped on velum.   Stamp is from Hope Grows by Theresa Momber found at GinaK Designs.  I first inked with Versamark then  the color Peeled Paint by Tim Holtz at Ranger.  I then gently heat embossed clear EP (trying not to curl the velum too much)  The focal stamp from the same set was stamped with Versamark, then Heat embossed with Black EP.   I "painted inside the lines of flower" by mixing a drop of Gum Arabic with a few granules  of LuminArte Powdered Pigments. (Blushing Rose & Mustard green)  I cut out with Spellbinders Labels 6 Die, then while still in die I sponged blue ink inside the die.  Then I used the LuminArte Blushing Rose & painted around the perimeter.  To further glitz it up....I mixed a little water, a drop of Gum Arabic, a few Blushing Rose granules and a few Perfect Pearls Powdered Pigments by Ranger in a tiny "mister" shook well & sprayed my flower.  The Sentiment is from Friendship's Garden by Asela Hopkins found at GinaK Designs

No Designer paper!  My inspiration came from StampTv Mix it Up Monday Inspiration picture of a spring table setting with daisies, lady bug bright colors.  I used digi from free samples at Dover Publications. I added multiple bugs & resized & reoriented for printing on red cardstock.  Focal picture is also digital printed on white CS & "painted " with LuminArte Powdered Pigments mixed with Gum Arabic.  Cut out with Blossom die from spellbinders.    Larger yellow blossom was stamped with Melanie Muinchinger's "A Year of Flowers" Daisy stamp found at GinaK Designs.  Stamped with VersaMark ink then heat embossed with clear EP.
