Resubmiting for Meljen's Designs Blast from the past

I am resubmitting this on August 28, 2011 because Meljen's Designs Challenge this week is
Challenge #73 - BLAST FROM THE PAST!!
Show us the very first card you ever made using a Meljen's Designs image!  It was firs submitted on March 8, 2011.

There's nothing SPRINGier than a Little Lamb!
This card is for my sweet 9 yr. old Grand Daughter who is WAS in the hospital following back surgery.  Update, she came home April 1 2011, had a good summer & has started back to school last week!  Praise God!
Made from digital stamps at Meljen's Designs  A couple of these happen to be in the "freebie" spot!

I printed on white card stock then "painted" inside the lines with Powdered Pigments from LuminArte mixed with Gum Arabic.  I then sponged around the Ribbon with Stampin-Up  Orchid Opulence.  I printed on the ribbon I Love Ewe.  The lambie was  painted  also and then cut out and mounted with foam dots.
Card base is from DCWV Shimmers Stack.

(2011 Card #96) How to be Wise

Ok this is s stretch for me, something totally new...A Twisted Easel Card!  I used a Friend of our Library pencil for the stop to hold card face open.  This is for my very smart & wise grandson who is now a 6th grader!

My card dimensions are a whole lot bigger than this tutorial, so I had to actually glue an extension to my card base....It'll have to go in a package rather than an envelope, Oh well.

  I followed a tutorial at

(2011 Card #94) Bookmark

This card has been posted before, so you can Just ignore the card...it was entered back in June for STVFRIJH2. But now I'm finally sending it to my Dear DIL for her birthday and I just made this bookmark to go with it.
For the BOOKMARK I stamped on recycled plastic packaging with black Stazon then turned it over (so it wouldn't smear the stamped image) and colored inside the lines with colored Sharpie pens. I then put it through my laminator so nothing will ever smear!

NOW FOR THE REST OF THE STORY:
This is the inside of the card.......
I'm just a little scatterbrained right now! Since I found out that ......    Donna Downey is coming to our valley to hold classes I've been on cloud 999,999,999!!!!!!!!!

Sooooo here's my problem I forgot to send my daughter-in-law her birthday card...then to add insult to injury I called her on her birthday but didn't wish her a happy birthday....oh no I was just squealing and gushing about Donna Downey coming to town and getting to take DD's classes....and asking my DIL to send her daughter's Inspiration Art Journal (so I can show Donna Downey because my GD & I watched her Inspiration Wednesdays videos every day that I was there visiting and that was the Inspiration for our Journal)  For my GD's Journal  I helped her make a Canvas cover & Gesso'd cardstock for the signature pages inside. My GD Decorated the cover with her own artwork, and she did the sewing of the canvas (she had just gotten her first sewing machine for her 9th birthday...did I say she is very crafty!!)  Then a couple of days later it HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS   I totally missed my DIL's Birthday!!!##!!!    Can you ever forgive me sweetie????
I will do another post with px of her journal if that's ok with mom.

Oh, did I mention that I am OVER THE TOP  EXCITED!!!!

(2011 Card #93) Christmas in August

Christmas in August is the challenge at Simon Says.  I used a free digi  4 Calling Birds from Beccy's Place.  I printed several times with different patterned paper and Paper Pieced the 4 Calling Birds.  Dies from Spellbinders: Classic Circles and Lacy Circles. Title printed on vellum & attached with ribbon.  Zigzag stitched background papers.

My cards are rarely the standard 4 1/2 X 5 1/2 inch size, soooo this one which is 5 1/8 X 6 inch meets the requirement at Mark's Finest Papers for this week's challenge Anything but standard card size.

This was truly an experiment for me.......I had a hard time printing on the dp, because I was so careful to place it over the image "just right for the pattern to be in strategic places" and Whamo #!@#&*#!  I must have bumped a key and it would print just a little bit off!!!!!!
I like the paper pieced look, so I will probably try this technique next time with stamps!

The 4 Calling Birds  look like they are definitely following Ps 148:7-10  Briefly:  Praise the LORD you creatures of the earth & flying birds!  What a wonderful thing to be able to Praise Him for not only creating the earth, but especially for Jesus our Creator who stepped down from Heaven to become man while still being God...so that he could be the sacrifice for our sins so that we might have eternal life with Him.

(2011 Card #92) God's creation

Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths, lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding, you mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds
Psalm 148:7-10
At Stampin Sisters In Christ we are reminded to join God's creation in praising HIM!

I've broken some card making "Rules" here!  Hope this doesn't mean Disaster!!!
I'm afraid this one may only last as a picture because:
I used real Birch Bark & it's not acid free & who knows how it will break down & just disappear????
And it's pretty brittle & fragile...too much handling & it will break & peal!  (I should give it to one of those fellows who just take a look at their cards & immediately toss them into the trash) he he,,,boo hoo!

Stamps used are found at GinaK Designs:  Life is Good by Theresa Momber

Challenges:
StampTV STVMONCT6 - Break all the rules
StampinSistersInChrist Ch #100 - Use a creature on card - PS 148:7-10
