(2012 Card #10) Shaker Rainbow

Shaker Rainbow card
This Shaker card was made with recycled clear acrylic packaging.  I framed it with multiple layers of Spellbinders Circle Scallops die cuts.  The water lily is from Mark's Finest Papers stamp set Floating Along.  The sentiment is also plastic packaging stamped with Stazon ink.  I made the flower with Sizzix  Tattered Flowers die.  The blue pearls are Liquid Pearls by Ranger. The shaker contains blue beads and 2 little red fish.
Over at Stampin Sisters In Christ the scripture this week is Col. 1:27b "Christ in you...the hope of glory"  This brings to mind his many promises to us and the rainbow is a beautiful sign of just one of His many promises!

(2012 Card #9) Lavenders

When we have a new life in Christ, He will raise us up as on wings of eagles! Spring flowers make me think of new life in Christ...from a tiny seed, to a sprout breaking the earth, on to a bud and with maturity a blossom!
Oh the joy that new life in Christ brings to my soul! I made the 3 ribbon flowers.

(2012 Card #8) Wings of Eagles

Oh the JOY that resides in our hearts when we can hear the Word of the LORD and know in our hearts this truth:  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;  they shall mount up with wings as eagles.  Isiah 40:31
I don't normally put dark & light lavender, grey & pink with brown, but that was the Color Palette - Autum over at Colorful Creations, so I did it, & frankly I like the combo!  The flowers are designer paper.
I totally loved the technique at http://frosteddesigns.blogspot.com/2012/03/show-me-sunday-beverly.html  She shows how to make a frame with corner punches.  I started with an oval shape then used Martha Stewart's Eyelet Lace corner punch to make the boarder.

(2012 Card #7) Easter

Easter bunny, makes me think of the plush bunnies in my Easter basket as a child.  Sorry I don't know where the stamp is from...unfortunately it is a rubber stamp that I UNmounted & didn't write down the maker.  I found this interesting fold tutorial for my card at Rubber Stamping Is My Game blog  Go there to see the tutorial.  I love this technique!!!!!  I used Martha Stewart's Eyelet Lace punch for the sides (As you can see I made 4 cards with this punch, my current FAVORITE TOOL).  This a square 6x6 card, due to the layers there is a bit of an optical illusion that makes it look taller, but its not.

(2012 Card #4) Easter Vintage

I found this interesting fold tutorial for my vintage card at Rubber Stamping Is My Game blog  Go there to see the tutorial.  I love this technique!!!!!  I used Martha Stewart's Eyelet Lace punch for the sides.  This a square 6x6 card, due to the layers there is a bit of an optical illusion that makes it look taller, but its not.
Focal stamp is from http://www.smartrubber.com/smartsite_004.htm  This set was from 2010 and doesn't appear to be available any longer.  Sentiment stamp is from Christ is Risen by Nina Bracket found at GinaK Designs.  I colored boy & flowers with Copics, then sponged around for ground, sky & sun  (notice inside the sun there is a faintly glowing cross, which I achieved by stamping the cross with Versamark & then heating with heat gun.)

(2012 Card #3) Get Well

This is a Get Well card for a wonderful lady I first met at StampTV, she now also designs for Mark's Finest Papers and The Outlawz Challenge Blog.  Karen I pray for your quick and God given healing!  This card is inspired by the scripture Isiah 40:30-31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.  And also by the song You Raise Me Up  lyrics by Brendan Graham & composed by Rolf Lovland.

(2012 Card #2) Fluttering Butterfly

Ok here's #2  I love the idea of  a butterfly  "fluttering"  inside the window.
I made the flowers with ribbon by pulling one of the threads from both ends and tying together then placing a bit of bling for the center.  I totally loved the technique at http://frosteddesigns.blogspot.com/2012/03/show-me-sunday-beverly.html She shows how to make a frame with corner punches...Mine is made from Martha
Stewart Medallion Medium Double Punch (not a corner punch & I miscalculated the positioning, so I just got the basic outline for my edge...but hey this was my first try!)  I used MS Double Loops for the bottom edge of my pastel stripes.  Stamp by GinaKDesigns Hope Is Faith, Butterfly was heat embossed with pink & inked with blue for one side and the other was embossed with blue & inked with pink!   I glued the green & striped paper on card, then ran through my Cuttlebug with the largest classic circles Spellbinders die, then glued the string holding butterfly in upper center & then glued the circle frame on top.
