(2011 card#24) Peacock TLCCreations

Over at StampinSistersInChrist their Challenge 74  - Psalm 23  is Blue & Green = Calm Waters and Green Pastures. Read this Psalm and see encouragement, Tender, constant, loving care from Christ our Good Shepherd:
Scripture: Psalm 23, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Peacock image is from CreateWithTLC  I printed it on white CS and painted with LuminArte Powdered Pigments that I mixed with Gum Arabic.  I cut out with Spellbinders Scalloped Ovals  Then sponged inside die.  Blessings is from Nina Bracket's Lovely Labels stamp set found at StampTV.                                                    Challenges:                                                      StampinSistersInChrist - Challenge 74  Psalm 23 (blue & green)                                                                                       PaperTakeWeekly - Sketch 52

(2011 card#23) Thank You RBW & Dryer Sheet

New Technique to me!  This was so much FUN!  I followed the Tutorial - Dryer Sheets on OperationWriteHome site.  I used the second method by spraying glue on a new dryer sheet & placing it on a piece of red CS.  Then I dry embossed it with my Cuttlebug using Tim Holtz Retro Circles A2LG. I also embossed bottom half of my black BG by inking the same folder first with white ink.  My focal point was cut with Spellbinders Lacey Circles. Stamp  Inside and Out from GinaK Designs.

Tribute to a beautiful lady!

Tribute to a wonderful lady, Kathy Munyon
Tomorrow there will be a service to mark the final goodbyes to a dear lady who I worked with for the last  several years.  She raised her 3 girls and then went back to college and got her degree & went on for her Medical Laboratory Technologist accreditation.  She did her internship in our laboratory and then passed her boards and then our hospital had the good sense to hire her.  Kathy was such a smart lady, an exemplary Technologist. She was one of the Sweetest people I've known, Kind, Generous, Genuine and quietly Funny. And she exuded Happiness...I don't think I ever saw her without thinking "Kathy is such a Happy person! She was truly a Beautiful Woman!
Here are the fronts of the cards I gave her husband and 3 daughters and the inside of one of the cards.

St. Patricks Day is alway a BIG deal for my grand kids .  It seems those pesky Leprechaun always visit in the middle of the early morning on March 17 and turn over chairs, even couches to find the Big pot of gold, but they have holes in their own pockets and loose gold covered chocolate coins almost every year while they are snooping around! Much to the kid's delight!

(2011 card#9) Love

I entered this card in 2 Challenges:

At StampTV  For the sketch challenge STVSKSP8.

At Lexi's Creations Challenge #31 For this week's Challenge we would like you to "Say it With Love"
Our Sponsor for this Challenge is the wonderful Letraset. So this week the prize is going to be some Promarkers for one lucky winner!

I used Labels 8 for frames, largest frame is designer paper from The C Thru Ruler Company. Stamped Martha Stewart's Flourishes on white cs & embossed with clear EP. Then put a heart template over stamped image (I cut the heart out of light cardboard with Fiskars cutting system for my template) Then I sponged ink inside heart shape, then wiped ink off embossing. Sponged lightly around rest of heart background. I made the ribbon heart by cutting a small heart from cardstock for the base. Then using same ribbon that is under focal image...I cut each end at an angle & glued the ends together , then folded out flat, this gave the bottom point...then I bunched, shapped, pinched, fought with it, glued it to the cs base....whew! then I adhered pearls down that center seam.

(2011 card #8) Owl for 5 Challenges

I entered this card in 5 challenges:

I printed the digi from the free weekly sample from Mary Davis, Dover Publications.  Then I painted the image using LuminArte Powdered Pigments mixed with Gum Arabic.  The image was then cut out with Spellbinders Oval Nestabilities and then blue was sponged around the inside of die.  Then I sponged the estreme edge with Ranger's Vintage Photo Distress ink.  The matting papers are Basic Grey and the brown matting is Recollections from Michaels.  Fly is from We R Memory Keepers $1.  I tied twine through the button.

I LOVE OWLS!!!  So Imagine my delight when I heard hooting just outside my front door one day around dusk(April 2010)!!!  I opened the sliding door and one owl flew out of the oak tree right in front of me, but his or her Sweetheart stayed for about half an hour for a nice photo shoot and I took a bajillion pictures!! It was so dusky that I had to photoshop them a lot to get more light on the owl (owl was pretty dark at first)  Isn't he or she BEAUTIFUL!!!!
