(2011 Card #48) Christ is Risen

I stamped the cross from Nina Bracket's Christ is Risen set found at GinaK Designs, with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Candy Violet EP.  I then cut & embossed with Petite Large Scalloped Oval Dies from Spellbinders & framed with dark lilac.  I embossed dark lilac paper from Cor-dinations and embossed in Sizzix Damask folder from the Medallions, Frame & Damask Set 1.  Then I used Tim Holtz sanding tool to distress to reveal lighter core.  I made a rolled ribbon flower with white & Mango ribbon (why does the camera pick up ribbon's color differently that paper??? it is really close in color to the mango bg for the cross).  And the disappointing part of my card is that I used Tim Holtz Crackle paint on the same paper as the  cross BG and I expected the mango to show through the crackle.....but it didn't!

(2011 Card #47) Christ is Risen

Stamp is from Nina Bracket's Christ is Risen set found at GinaK Designs, I stamped on Gemstones paper with Versamark then heat embossed with Black EP. I got my inspiration for the vellum background at http://www.layersofcolor.com/blog/2011/03/22/beatriz-jennings-embossed-vellum/ I embossed my background vellum using Sizzix Flowers embossing folder of the Dots & Flowers set.  Stitched vellum to purple CS from my stash.  Cut frames with Scalloped Ovals from Spellbinders, using paper from DCVW Shimmers Stack.   For the flower I punched a circle from CS and tied a knot near end of wired sheer ribbon & glued it to circle.  I started adding glue to circle & twisting ribbon  around & around from center to outside until circle was covered with twisted ribbon.

(2011 Card #45) Berry Happy

The main theme of this card is Something Hidden following along with Stampin Sisters In Christ Challenge #81.  The scripture this week is:
Scripture: Matthew 6:6 "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you."
A reminder that we need to talk directly to God in our prayers, from the depths of our souls we can cry out to God not only in supplication, but in praise and thanksgiving.  When we go to Him in private, we are there truely for sweet communion  with Him and not for show to impress others.

Focal Image was once a Freebie from Meljen's Designs.  Be sure to visit her site to get her weekly freebie digis, some remain free, but some are only free for a short time, then they are for sale.  I printed it once for the outside image & cut it out with Big Scalloped Circles die from Spellbinders.  Then printed image larger and cut out with a smaller circle so just the strawberry was visible.   Since it was cut out with a smaller circle, it is hidden when the card is closed.  I painted the strawberry with LuminArte Polished Pigments mixed with gum arabic.  I embossed white CS with Sizzix Perfect Polka Dots, then brushed StampinUp Rose Red ink pad across to highlight the dots.

(2011 Card #41) Under the Sea

Stamped images from GinaK's Quite a Catch and Ecclectic Summer found at StampTV .  I painted images with LuminArte Powdered Pigments that I mixed with Gum Arabic.  I fussy cut & glued them to my card.  The seahorse is popped up with foam dots. I used Fiskars boarder punches Dandy Doodles Emboss & Sunburst. For the wide dark blue wavy strip with bubble holes punched in it - I dug out  my first cutting tool I bought at the first scrapbooking party I ever attended  by Creative Memories (their 12 inch cutting system)  That is where I first started scrapbooking in 2000 after my first grand child was born.  Then I discovered card making at StampTv in November of 2009!  What ABSOLUTE FUN!!!!!
